The Woo-Labs Project-Based Learning Showcase brought together K-6 grade students from across the city who are engaging in hands-on projects through Woo-Labs to share their work with peers, families, and key community stakeholders, including local education leaders and elected officials. The event celebrated student learning and highlight the impact of project-based learning on the quality of local education.
Since its founding, the Worcester Education Collaborative (WEC) has proudly and resolutely focused on promoting the principles of DEI – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – in Worcester and beyond. WEC’s belief and commitment is that every child – no matter their race, immigration status, gender identity, socioeconomic background, or ability – deserves access to a good education in a welcoming environment. This is shown in WEC’s mission to advance excellence and equity in education for all Worcester Public School students. WEC is a member of a statewide partnership of education, civil rights, and social justice organizations pressing for equity in education in Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Education Equity Partnership came together over a year ago and produced the report, Number One for Some, which focused on the significant disparities in education opportunity, access, and ultimately outcomes in our commonwealth.
